RUCODEM – Romanian Union of Cosmetics and Detergents Manufacturers – is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization. The Union became legal body in June 1997 and has its office in Bucharest.

Mission

RUCODEM’s Mission is to help support a compliant business environment for its Members in order to allow the industry to grow and develop sustainably, to generate a positive impact in the society and to contribute to the improvement of Romanians’ living standards.

Vision

RUCODEM’s Vision is to provide objective and generally applicable expertise, support and knowledge to the industry, aiming to support establishing the highest standards in terms of products‘ safety, compliance, sustainable development and trust, and to facilitate a climate for an open and constructive dialogue with the stakeholders and authorities.

Criteria for Membership:
To become Members: may request the affiliation Romanian or foreign companies manufacturing cosmetic products, detergents and products for house maintenance and/or for industrial and professional cleaning and maintenance which are present in Romania or which have such product trademarks registered in Romania.
To become Associate Members: may request the affiliation Romanian or foreign companies that have a secondary connection with cosmetic products, detergents and maintenance products, such as: product testing and analysis laboratories, companies active in the production of raw materials used in the manufacturing of products including cosmetics, detergents and maintenance products.
These companies should promote and exercise fair competition, respect the applicable law and have ethical values.
To become Correspondent Members: may request the affiliation Romanian or foreign companies that are sole distributors in Romania of cosmetics, detergents or maintenance products, representing registered trademark holders who are not legal entities registered in Romania.

Multinational groups owing several companies in Romania, partly or fully, can only be represented in the RUCODEM by one of these companies.
